International Tour Operator
When an international tour operator believed they had identified a market opportunity among US travelers looking for discount fares booked through travel agents, they asked our client, PhoCusWright, to develop a methodology that could quantify this market opportunity.
Beresford Research identified and gathered government statistics on annual travel from selected US cities and regions to twenty leading international destinations. Beresford Research defined custom reports across multiple years from the government statistics and then developed reliable forecasts of travel volumes by traveler type for each city/region and city/country pair.
Beresford Research complemented these forecasts with surveys and in-depth interviews of US travel agents to learn how travel agents currently book international air travel, and their interest in using a new booking tool.
The tour operator used the detailed forecasts and custom survey findings to design and launch a new travel service, which in its first four months of operations had over one million unique visitors.
